ESL Activity: Five Things

At the start of the new year, my ESL students and I have decided to start using blogging as a form of exercising their writing and reading abilities. I have asked both students to write a short paragraph about five things that they like accompanied by five photos. In order to participate, here is my take on the assignment.

Assignment 3: Documenting
Assignment 3: Documenting
The Eiffel Tower from the 7th arrondissment, 2013

The Acropolis, 2013

Appz and Zertz Part 1, 2014

Five things that I love are photography, Marina and the Diamonds, Paris, travel, and cooking respectively. Photography has been a long interest of mine that has manifested into something more concrete. I started taking classes here at Carnegie Mellon and now I can’t get enough! Marina and the Diamonds is one of my favorite artists. Being introduced to her really changed my life and I don’t know how I would have gotten through some of college without it. I spent a semester in Paris and it was brought the most change to my life and myself than any other experience I’ve had. It’s my favorite city in the world and I can’t wait to go back someday sooner rather than later. My love for Paris also ties into my love for travel. For me, there is nothing more exciting than getting on a plane or a train and just seeing something new or interacting with a new locale. Lastly, ever since I moved off of campus, I have had to cook for myself like any other student. For me, I take great pride in being able to impress my friends with an ability to cook good food to gather around. There are many more things I could have listed here. Five is a limiting number!
